A global insurance firm is hiring an IT Security Engineer. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of and experience with the common security controls employed to protect endpoints and computer applications, as well as the knowledge necessary to properly understand and co-ordinate remediation of vulnerabilities that appear in the infrastructure with the affected parties.

‐ Responsible for “Threat and Vulnerability Management” remediation
‐ Completing a thorough monthly assessment of the security scans performed against the company environments
‐ Identifying vulnerabilities and enhancing the globally received reports for consumption by the appropriate points of contact, in the affected departments.
‐ Responsible for both review and approval of patches to be released into the company environment and must understand from a technical standpoint.
‐ Maintaining the tools and processes implemented from a security stand point, as part of the vulnerability management.

Required Skills

‐ Experience in an information technology role with at least one role being related to information security
‐ Strong knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint, (i.e. Excel ‐ Vlookup, Pivot, Concatenate etc.)
‐ Good understanding of multiple networking protocols (TCP/IP, NetBIOS etc.) LAN WAN etc
‐ Familiarity with general security standards and issues
‐ Familiarity with and understanding of infrastructure devices (servers, databases, endpoints and network) vulnerabilities with a strong emphasis on server and endpoint knowledge
‐ Understanding of OS and network security

Preferred Skills

‐ Professional certification such as CISSP or other security related certification
‐ Working knowledge of Microsoft. *nix operating systems
