Seeking English language proofreader for financial reporting/quality control department!
NO JAPANESE SKILLS REQUIRED!
Proofreader gets involved after others, such as the author, editor and typesetter, have drafted the document. It is the proofreader's role to act as a fresh pair of eyes, spotting any mistakes others might have missed.
■Primary responsibility is performing quality checks of English language client financial reports including reviewing for:
‐ Consistency of spelling, style, and tone
‐ Spelling and grammatical errors
‐ Formatting of page numbers, headings and captions, etc.
■Additional responsibilities will include:
‐ Assisting department managers to improve and standardize internal templates
‐ Working with Japanese engagement teams to improve the clarity and understandability of internal reports and memoranda prepared in English
※Candidate will work for and report directly to senior expatriate (U.S.) executive.
‐ A scrupulous approach to detailed work
‐ A high level of skill in written English, including spelling, grammar and punctuation
‐ The motivation to work on their own, and to meet deadlines
‐ An ability to stay focused throughout an entire document, which may be long and technical
‐ Good judgment, to gauge which changes are necessary
‐ An ability to work within the style of the author, rather than impose their own ideas
‐ Good interpersonal skills, to build working relationships and contacts with engagement teams
‐ Confidence with computers and software (primarily Microsoft Word, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat)
