Description
A global automotive manufacturer is looking for a strong and talented Application Support Engineer (Bridge Engineer) with experience supporting IT and back-office teams and exposure to Logistics or Supply Chain Systems.
Responsibilities:
- Provide L1/L2 application support for logistics and supply chain–related systems used across production and logistics operations.
- Monitor applications and services to ensure stable day-to-day operations and minimal business disruption.
- Handle incidents and service requests, perform initial analysis, and coordinate resolution with backend and technical teams.
- Track application issues, support tickets, and service requests through to closure, ensuring timely updates to stakeholders.
- Perform basic root cause analysis and support documentation of incidents and corrective actions.
- Act as the primary coordination point between business users, shopfloor operations, and backend IT / development teams.
- Communicate clearly with logistics, supply chain, and operations teams to understand issues, requirements, and operational impacts.
- Translate business and operational requirements into clear, actionable inputs for backend and technical teams.
- Support discussions related to system enhancements, minor changes, and operational improvements.
- Participate in meetings with business, IT, and operations stakeholders, primarily conducted in Japanese.
- Maintain incident logs, service request records, and operational documentation.
- Prepare regular operational reports and service metrics (monthly / quarterly) as required.
- Support change management processes, including tracking of change requests and coordination with relevant teams.
- Maintain application knowledge bases and operational guides
Required Skills:
- 5+ Years’ Experience as an Application Support Engineer, IT Operations Analyst, or similar role supporting business applications.
- Basic understanding of business processes in logistics or supply chain environments
- Technical of programing language such as Java, Python, C#, SQL and understanding of enterprise applications, interfaces, and data flows sufficient to communicate effectively with backend teams.
- Experience handling incidents, service requests, and coordinating issue resolution.
- Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
