A major retail brand is looking for a strong POS Operations & Back-Office Support Consultant for a long-term ongoing project, within the IT Infrastructure Team.
The consultant will be responsible for stabilizing POS operations, addressing ongoing business issues, and improving operational efficiency across stores and headquarters.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily POS system operations across retail stores and head office
- Monitor system performance, incidents, and operational issues
- Manage POS incident handling, root cause analysis, and issue resolution
- Coordinate POS upgrades, patches, configuration changes, and releases
- Support back-office systems related to sales, inventory, settlement, reporting, and store operations
- Ensure accurate data flow between POS, back-office, and related systems
- Assist with operational checks, reconciliations, and issue investigations
- Vendor Coordination
- Communicate directly with store teams, HQ business users, and stakeholders
- Understand day-to-day operational challenges faced by business users
- Translate business issues into system or operational actions
- Provide clear explanations, updates, and workarounds to non-technical users
- Identify recurring issues and propose operational or process improvements
- Create and maintain operational documentation, manuals, and procedures
- Support UAT, store rollouts, and operational readiness activities
Required Skills:
- Experience managing POS systems in retail or multi-store environments
- Strong understanding of retail back-office operations (sales, inventory, settlement, reporting)
- Proven experience coordinating with external system vendors
- Ability to engage confidently with business users and store operations teams
- Experience in incident management and operational support
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently in a consulting-style role
