A Global IT Service firm is seeking a Project Manager – Cyber Security to join the Cyber Security Defense Department.
This role will manage multiple security-focused projects, strengthen project management practices within the security teams, and contribute to protecting users.
The ideal candidate will handle projects of varying complexity, take ownership of outcomes, and support continuous improvement of project management standards across the department.
Responsibilities:
- Simultaneously manage multiple high-priority cyber security projects involving diverse teams and stakeholders
- Conduct weekly project status updates, ensuring sponsors, managers, and teams are aligned and expectations are clear
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks, issues, and assumptions, ensuring timely mitigation
- Lead retrospectives and lessons learned sessions, proposing process improvements (kaizen) for project management practices
- Support the Strategy Management Group in standardizing and optimizing project management processes, documentation, and templates
- Ensure smooth transition of projects from planning and execution back to operational teams
Required skills:
- 3+ years of experience as a project manager in information technology, information security or cybersecurity
- Strong verbal and written communications skills – must be comfortable developing relationships across cultures with different communication styles and conflicting viewpoints to find a ‘middle way’
- Understanding of essential project management ideas, tools, and frameworks including traditional and agile methodologies
- Experiencing in leading projects from initial conception, developing into a clear project plan, executing, and then transitioning smoothly back to operations
- Ability to assess project risks and change requests and work with necessary stakeholders to achieve consensus and maintain project objectives
- Tracking and reporting of projects on a weekly basis using standard format, conducting risk and issue management and balancing the expectations of multiple stakeholders
