A Top Tech firm is growing and looking for a Backend engineer to support their Creators Market in Fukuoka. In this role you will be working with a dedicated team to help improve overall services across various domains. This is an opportunity to work on systems at a scale that are rare to see in Japan and work with other dedicated engineers in a collaborate results focused environment.

Responsibilities:
- Development and operation in both Kotlin and Perl language environments
- The team is promoting new development using Kotlin, and migrating from Perl to Kotlin as needed when modifying existing functions
- Lead development of backend services for user-facing features
- Architectural design that can improve efficiency and flexibility
- Designing and developing services that maintain high standards of availability, reliability, and fault tolerance
- Support for team members regarding best practices for software implementation and operation
- Collaborate with other teams and support high-quality implementation through active participation in code reviews and design reviews

Required Skills:
- Experience in server-side application development (5+ years)
- Experience and skills in incident management.
- Knowledge and experience with data storage technologies such as MySQL.
- Business-level conversational skills in Japanese or English
- English document comprehension and writing skills
