A major retail organization in Japan, backed by a global investment group, is seeking a strong Application Development Support – PMO professional.
The company operates more than 10 stores nationwide and is focused on improving operational efficiency and customer service through the adoption of modern POS systems. The organization is actively introducing digitalization and automation technologies to address on-site challenges and support continued business growth.
Responsibilities
- Manage individual software development projects as a Project Manager (PM) while also supporting PMO activities across multiple projects
- Manage the progress of backend and frontend software development projects and support Project Managers throughout each project phase
- Coordinate schedules and optimize resources between development vendors and internal IT teams
- Work with stakeholders to clarify business and technical requirements
- Monitor project progress, identify issues, and support their resolution
- Guide and support project team members
- Drive quality management and process improvements
- Create reports and dashboards to provide visibility into progress and issues across multiple projects
- Develop and implement project management standards, templates, and processes
- Implement and manage project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft Project
- Support the introduction of new technologies and tools and assess their impact
- Identify and analyze project risks and track mitigation activities
- Conduct post-project reviews and evaluate project outcomes
- Monitor project schedules and budgets and support successful delivery within agreed timelines and budgets
Required Skills
- 3+ years of project management experience in software development projects. Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously is preferred
- Knowledge and practical experience with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or other project management methodologies
- Experience with project/PMO tools such as Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, and Excel for progress tracking and reporting
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders
