Description
A Global IT firm is looking for Senior Database Engineer for Corporate IT Database section. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the architecture, deployment, management, and optimization of our critical database and Elasticsearch environments. You will play a key role in ensuring the high availability, performance, and scalability of our data infrastructure, with a particular focus on deployments within Kubernetes. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will also mentor junior engineers, drive best practices, and contribute to the strategic evolution of our database landscape.
Responsibilities:
- Deep expertise in designing, deploying, managing, and optimizing large-scale Elasticsearch clusters (multi-node, multi-terabyte)
- Strong understanding of Elasticsearch architecture, including sharding, replication, indexing, mapping, analyzers, and aggregations
- Proficiency in performance tuning Elasticsearch, including JVM, garbage collection, query DSL, and cluster settings
- Experience with Elasticsearch security features (e.g., X-Pack, Elastic Stack Security)
- Solid experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, Elastic Stack Monitoring) and setting effective alerts
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Bash for automation
- Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS) managing Elasticsearch in cloud environments
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and their integration with Elasticsearch
Required skills:
- 8+ years of progressive experience as a Database Engineer, with at least 3+ years specifically focused on Elasticsearch.
