A Global IT Service firm is seeking a Senior Application Engineer .
Responsibilities:
- Design, development, and operation of services and systems related to Rakuten Ichiba
- Execution of development and operational projects for assigned services
- Identification and resolution of technical challenges
- Troubleshooting and root cause analysis of system issues and incidents
Required Skills:
- Experience in defining the ideal state of technology, quality, operations, and processes, and leading the resolution of complex technical challenges and technical decision-making.
- Experience in taking ownership of production services, leading incident response, root cause analysis, recurrence prevention, and continuous quality improvement.
- Experience in appropriately delegating work and authority with consideration for members' growth, thereby enhancing team autonomy and performance.
- Experience in translating upper-level organizational goals into team objectives and execution plans, clarifying priorities, and contributing to the achievement of those organizational goals.
- Ability to work backward from goals while clearly defining owners, deadlines, issues, and risks, and drive work forward with a high degree of transparency.
- Ability to articulate technical challenges as business risks or opportunities, and to translate business requirements into actionable technical problems.
- Ability to bi-directionally translate between ground-level perspectives and organizational direction—even when policies are difficult to accept—and to move the organization forward through constructive proposals and consensus-building.
- Ability to explain technical challenges, business impact, risks, and recommendations to senior management in a concise and logical manner.
- Ability to engage in technical discussions, coordination, and reporting in English with members and stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Work Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (Flextime or staggered working hours possible)
Work Style: Hybrid (Typically 4 days in the office, 1 day working from home)
