A Global IT Service firm is seeking an enthusiastic Project Manager/Product Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Requirement Definition
- Create and maintain the product backlog
- Act as a liaison between business units, development teams, QA, and other stakeholders
- Define milestones and delivery timelines
- Write clear and actionable user stories with acceptance criteria
- Participate in sprint planning meetings
- Support QA in understanding requirements and test scenarios
- Coordinate release schedules and ensure readiness
- Track KPIs and user feedback after release
- Maintain up-to-date documentation (e.g., PRDs, release notes)
- Do operational tasks to provide services
Required skills:
- International Project Management Experience: Proven experience managing offshore development projects, particularly with teams in India. This includes seamless communication in English across different cultures
- Cross-Cultural & Cross-Functional Project Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience managing system development projects involving Indian engineers and Japanese business stakeholders who may not be technically proficient. This demonstrates a proven ability to bridge communication gaps and manage expectations across diverse technical and cultural backgrounds
- Task Management Tool Proficiency: Experience and skills in creating, assigning, tracking progress, and reporting tasks using JIRA
- Documentation & Information Sharing: Experience and skills in creating, managing, and sharing project-related documentation using Confluence
- Negotiation & Coordination: Ability to understand the cultures and circumstances of both Japan and India, find optimal solutions, and effectively coordinate and negotiate when differences of opinion or challenges arise between the two regions
- Requirements Elicitation: Strong communication skills to effectively elicit and translate requirements for both meeting room booking and equipment lending from Japanese business owners (including those with limited English proficiency) into clear specifications
- UX/UI Understanding: Fundamental understanding of User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) principles, with the ability to propose improvements for both systems
- Product Strategy: Ability to formulate strategies that maximize product value, focusing on improving efficiency and usability for internal users
