Description
Monroe Consulting Group Indonesia , an executive recruitment consulting firm, is recruiting on behalf of a leading garment and textile manufacturing company with a strong operational presence in Indonesia. As part of its ongoing expansion and commitment to operational excellence, our client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support production reliability, optimize machinery performance, and strengthen maintenance effectiveness across manufacturing operations. This position will be based in Central Java, Indonesia .
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage and maintain production machinery to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance across mechanical systems and equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures and implement sustainable solutions
- Support installation, commissioning, and modification of machinery and utilities
- Collaborate with production, quality, and technical teams to improve operational efficiency
- Monitor machine performance, identify improvement opportunities, and drive optimization initiatives
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and engineering best practices
- Liaise with Mandarin-speaking suppliers, technicians, or principals regarding machinery, spare parts, and technical documentation
- Prepare maintenance reports, technical documentation, and improvement proposals
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Proven experience in textile, garment, or manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of industrial machinery, mechanical systems, and maintenance practices
- Experience with preventive maintenance systems and troubleshooting
- Understanding of production equipment such as sewing machines, knitting machines, dyeing/finishing equipment, boilers, compressors, HVAC, or utilities is preferred
- Proficiency in Mandarin (spoken and written) is mandatory
- Ability to communicate with overseas suppliers / principals
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good teamwork and cross-functional collaboration ability
- Familiar with safety and operational standards in manufacturing
- Willingness to work in factory / production environment
