A Global Automotive firm is looking for a reliable and service-oriented IT Operations Analyst (L1 Support) to provide frontline IT support for manufacturing and production systems within its Japan operations.
This role focuses on first-line IT operations and user support rather than development. The analyst will work directly with production line users, plant operators, and internal IT teams to ensure stable day-to-day system availability. The position requires strong communication skills, rapid response to incidents, and a structured approach to ticket management and issue coordination.
Responsibilities:
- Provide L1 support for manufacturing and plant applications on the production line
- Serve as the primary contact for end users raising incidents or service requests
- Visit shop floors, communicate with operators, and gather accurate problem details
- Perform initial triage, impact assessment, and basic troubleshooting
- Ensure minimal disruption to production and operational workflows
- Log, manage, and resolve tickets using ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow)
- Follow structured incident handling and escalation procedures
- Support standard user requests, including access permissions and application guidance
- Maintain operational documentation, knowledge articles, and support notes
- Track recurring issues, communicate trends, and assist with change/release activities
Required Skills:
- 2–5+ years of experience in IT support, IT operations, service desk, or application support roles
- Experience handling incidents and service requests in structured ITSM environments
- Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar ticketing / ITSM tools
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-resolution mindset
- Basic awareness of modern application environments and architectures
- General understanding of frontend and backend technologies (React, Angular, .NET, Java, Node – awareness level only)
- Basic knowledge of APIs and integrations (REST required; GraphQL / gRPC awareness beneficial)
- Basic SQL / data flow understanding
- Exposure to Azure DevOps or similar operational / CI-CD workflows (awareness level)
- Strong communication and user-facing skills
