Description
A Global IT Service firm is looking for a Database Platform Engineers who has strong experience in backend development specializing in Database-as-a-Service with deep expertise in MySQL and MariaDB, as well as other NoSQL database technologies.
We are a fast-paced and diverse team of database specialists and software engineers responsible for designing, automating, managing, and running databases on Private and Public Cloud Platforms.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in designing, developing, and managing enterprise-level database systems with complex interdependencies and a key focus on high-availability, clustering, security, performance, and scalability requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Design and establish a robust Hybrid/Multi-Cloud architecture connecting on-premises MySQL databases with GCP Cloud SQL
- Communicate closely with engineering team and application teams to design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure database platform across hybrid environments
- Manage, monitor, and perform advanced performance tuning for MySQL databases operating within a distributed Multi-Cloud ecosystem to ensure high availability and low latency
Required skills:
- 5+ Years of work experience in the IT Industry.
- Extensive experience in MySQL administration, including replication strategies, backup/recovery, performance tuning, trouble shooting, and disaster recovery planning
- Hands-on experience with GCP (specifically Cloud SQL) and a solid understanding of hybrid connectivity solution
- Experience in automating database provisioning and configuration management using tools such as Terraform or Ansible
