Description
A Global IT Service firm is seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer to join the Cloud Platform Department.
As part of the Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE), you will support the expansion of public cloud adoption by handling day-to-day cloud operations across a multi-cloud environment, enabling the organization to maximize efficiency and governance in cloud usage.
Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day cloud operations across a multi-cloud environment (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI), ensuring stability, availability, and compliance of cloud services.
- Review, process, and manage public cloud account, project, and subscription creation requests in accordance with established governance policies.
- Drive approval workflows and track progress through Jira ticketing systems, ensuring timely completion of cloud-related requests.
- Validate request details against security, compliance, and operational standards, and communicate with requesters to clarify or complete required information.
- Execute cloud configuration and build operations for IAM, networking, storage, and other cloud resources following approved change management procedures and runbooks.
- Perform pre- and post-execution checks for cloud operations, document results, and update status and outcomes in Jira tickets.
- Provide first-line support for cloud-related inquiries, guiding users using existing FAQs and documentation, and escalating unresolved issues as needed.
- Maintain and improve cloud operational documentation, including runbooks and FAQs in Confluence, while continuously updating knowledge based on operational experience.
Required skills:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience operating and configuring public cloud environments (2 or more of AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI)
- Experience with basic IAM and networking configuration (VPC, subnets, security groups, etc.)
- Experience working with Jira or equivalent ticket management tools
- Ability to execute tasks accurately based on runbooks and manuals
- Ability to read and write English documentation and communicate via Slack/email
