Description
One of Japan’s leading energy groups is looking for a talented AI Value Engineering Manager to lead the creation of measurable business value through AI and data.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a portfolio of AI and data-driven transformation projects.
- Identify business challenges that can be addressed through AI, Generative AI, Machine Learning, and data solutions.
- Develop business cases, expected benefits, KPIs, and project priorities.
- Manage project pipelines, resources, schedules, risks, dependencies, and business outcomes.
- Drive AI initiatives from concept and proof of value through production implementation, adoption, and value realization.
- Support and operate the company-wide AI Center of Excellence (AI CoE).
- Coordinate AI programs across multiple business divisions and group companies.
- Evaluate both the business viability and technical feasibility of proposed AI initiatives.
- Work with technical teams to assess data requirements, architecture, implementation difficulties, cost, and risk.
- Provide management reporting and decision support on AI investment priorities and project performance.
- Build consensus across business, management, and technical stakeholders.
- Promote continuous improvement and agile validation of AI use cases.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 8+ years of project management experience, including project formation, KPI definition, project delivery, and stakeholder management.
- Strong understanding of AI and data technologies, including Machine Learning, Generative AI, Data platforms / data infrastructure, and Application & system integration
- Ability to discuss AI architecture, technical feasibility, data requirements, implementation complexity, and risk with technical teams and external specialists.
- Strong experience in cross-functional stakeholder management, facilitation, and consensus building.
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior management and translate business challenges into actionable AI initiatives.
- Strong business-value mindset with the ability to balance commercial impact, technical feasibility, resources, cost, and risk.

Work Location: Tokyo
Working Hours: 9:00 – 17:30 (Monday – Friday)
Work Style: Office-based (5 days/week initially, with 1 day WFH available after training completion)
