A HealthTech firm is looking for a Bioinformatics AI Specialist (Mid - Senior level). The ideal candidate will be an energetic and ambitious candidate who can thrive in a fast-paced, bootstrap environment and who is motivated to take leadership responsibility as a future CTO. The role involves contributing expertise in PBPK, PK/PD, and QSP modeling to develop a unified Large Quantitative Model for drug discovery and health applications.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop PBPK and PK/PD models using preclinical and clinical data to support drug discovery and health applications
- Apply QSP frameworks to integrate mechanistic biology and disease networks into unified large-scale models
- Integrate multi-omics data with chemical and biological databases (e.g., ChEMBL, UniProt, Cell Surface Atlas) to enhance predictive modeling
- Utilize chemoinformatics techniques for ADMET prediction, QSAR modeling, and drug–target interaction analysis
- Incorporate protein structure modeling (e.g., AlphaFold, molecular docking) into multi-level pharmacological simulations
- Ensure regulatory compliance by aligning with FDA submission standards and applying V&V 40 model validation practices
- Work with commercial platforms such as Simcyp, GastroPlus, and Simulation Plus to build and refine PBPK/PKPD/QSP models
- Develop scalable pipelines to process and analyze large biological and molecular datasets
- Apply machine learning techniques (including generative models, embeddings, and AutoML) to optimize model performance and reliability
- Leverage distributed computing tools (e.g., Spark, Ray, Dask) to enhance computational efficiency
- Use Python-based ML/DL frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face) for AI model development
- Deploy AI agents to streamline development workflows and explore their use across business functions such as UX, operations, and administration
Required Skills:
- Proven experience developing and scaling PBPK and PK/PD models across species using preclinical and clinical data
- Solid understanding of QSP frameworks for integrating mechanistic biology with disease networks
- Experience integrating omics data with molecular libraries (e.g., ChEMBL, PubChem, UniProt) for multi-scale modeling
- Familiarity with chemoinformatics workflows for ADMET, ligand similarity, drug-target modeling, and QSAR
- Knowledge of protein structure modeling tools (e.g., AlphaFold, RFdiffusion, docking) in pharmacological modeling
- Understanding of FDA regulations for PBPK/PKPD submissions and V&V 40 standards for model validation
- Hands-on use of platforms like Simcyp, GastroPlus, or Simulation Plus
- Experience handling large-scale biological or molecular datasets (multi-terabyte scale)
- Strong foundation in statistics, dimensionality reduction, and multi-modal data fusion
- Proficiency with distributed computing tools (e.g., Spark, Dask, Ray)
- Expertise in machine learning (supervised/unsupervised), generative models, and AutoML
- Skilled in Python ML/DL tools such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, and Hugging Face
- Experience deploying AI agents to enhance workflows and performance across development and business operations
Why should you apply:
- Join a company with a bold mission to elevate humanity through the fusion of AI, biotechnology, and human augmentation.
- Receive near-zero-cost, founding-level stock options with significant upside potential. The company also offers liquidity opportunities at each funding round — a rare and valuable benefit in early-stage startups
- Engage in cross-disciplinary innovation involving scRNA-seq, spatial transcriptomics, PBPK/PD modeling, large-scale ML/DL, and chatbot development. This is a unique opportunity to grow your expertise across multiple frontier technologies.
