A US based General Insurance firm is looking for a talented Principal Cloud Engineer with in the Cloud Division.
The ideal candidate will lead the design, implementation, and automation of modern cloud native infrastructure and application platforms using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management.
You will play a key role in building scalable, secure, and resilient solutions using AWS services like Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Step Functions, and more.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement highly available, event driven server-less solutions using AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, SNS, SQS, Step Functions, EventBridge)
- Design and implement highly available, container based solutions using ECS/EKS
- Architect scalable and secure cloud native applications and platforms using modern design patterns
- Collaborate with software development and product teams to align server-less infrastructure with application needs
- Build and manage reusable Terraform modules for provisioning server-less and supporting AWS resources
- Automate server less application deployments using Ansible for configuration tasks where needed (e.g., IAM roles, secrets, monitoring)
- Integrate IaC pipelines into CI/CD tools to enable rapid, repeatable, and reliable deployments
- Implement IAM policies, resource permissions, and least privilege access for server-less resources
- Ensure compliance with security standards, automate audit and monitoring frameworks, and manage secure key handling and secrets storage
- Monitor and optimize performance and cost of server- less workloads (e.g., Lambda execution time, API Gateway throttling, DynamoDB capacity)
- Use tools like AWS CloudWatch, XRay, Splunk and CloudTrail to trace and improve system reliability and efficiency
- Serve as a technical advisor and mentor to other engineers
- Establish engineering best practices for server- less development, IaC, and automation
- Drive adoption of cloud native design principles across teams
Required Skills:
- 8 years of experience working on cloud and infrastructure initiatives
- Extensive hands-on experience with AWS server-less services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Step Functions, etc.)
- Expert level experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning
- Solid experience with Ansible for automation and configuration management
- Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python, or similar)
- Experience integrating IaC and automation into CI/CD workflows
- Strong understanding of networking, security, and cloud cost management
- Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments or multi-cloud strategies

Working Hours: 9:00 - 17:30 (Mon-Fri)
