職務内容
A Global Retail firm is looking for talented Backend Engineer(Core Engineering Application Team).
The Core Engineering Team, the assigned department, is responsible for the in-house development of EC platforms for various group brands and globally deploys developed EC packages. As a global team composed of members from various nationalities, we collaborate in a multicultural environment to create innovative shopping experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end system development and operations, from requirements gathering with business stakeholders through design, build, testing, release, and ongoing maintenance
- Design, develop, and support globally deployed EC platforms based on microservices architecture
- Collaborate with business teams to translate requirements into scalable and reliable system designs aligned with global business needs
- Drive development and optimization of inventory management systems, improving accuracy, visibility, and efficient stock utilization across multiple regions and warehouses
- Contribute to modernization of membership platforms, including legacy system migration, user experience improvements, and enhanced security measures
- Develop and enhance shopping cart (basket) functionality, handling complex business logic such as promotions, payments, and high-traffic performance optimization
- Ensure high reliability and accuracy of order management systems through robust design, integration with internal systems, and thorough testing practices
- Improve product search capabilities by optimizing algorithms, enhancing user experience, and leveraging AI/ML technologies for features such as product tagging and recommendations
- Build and optimize notification systems (app/email) to enable timely, personalized, and targeted communication that drives customer engagement and business growth
- Utilize modern technologies and tools (cloud platforms, containerization, CI/CD, data stores, and messaging systems) to continuously improve system performance, scalability, and operational efficiency
Required Skills:
- Passion for IT technology, a sincere approach to problem-solving, positivity, strong sense of responsibility, and flexibility in thinking.
- Logical thinking: Ability to understand intentions and backgrounds beyond language barriers and guide towards problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills in Japanese or English.
- Programming experience of 5 years or more (Java, Go).
- Experience in basic design, detailed design, and testing of systems for 5 years or more.
- Experience in system operation for 3 years or more.

Working Hours: Flexible working hours (core time 9:00–14:00), Monday–Friday
