A Global IT Service is looking for an Application Engineer. As a Senior Software Engineer for the Payment Gateway team, you will play a pivotal role in leading the technical direction and development of the payment gateway APIs. You will collaborate closely with a team of talented developers across Japan, India, and China, ensuring the robustness, scalability, and security of our solutions. Your expertise will be essential in driving innovation and maintaining the high standards of our products.
Responsibilities:
- Development: Design, develop, maintain payment gateway APIs and Batch applications
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the development team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Code Quality: Conduct thorough code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices in coding, architecture, and security
- Collaboration: Work with product managers and other stakeholders to define project requirements and deliverables
- Project Management: Plan, prioritize, and manage development tasks and projects to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software solutions
- Operational Efficiency: Identify and implement automation opportunities to reduce manual operations and improve team productivity
Required Skills:
- Experience: 7+ years of backend software development experience, with a strong focus on Java and Spring Framework tech stack
- Database Expertise: Proficiency with SQL databases, particularly MySQL
- Development: Design and develop scalable, secure and maintainable APIs and Batch applications
- Architecture: Good understanding of software architecture and design patterns
- Methodologies: Excellent understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile methodologies
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
