A Global IT Service firm is looking for a Senior Server Engineer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining the logging platform as a service, ensuring its scalability, reliability, and performance. This role involves working with open-source technologies, managing infrastructure, automating processes, and collaborating with users to improve their experience.

Responsibilities:
- Develop distributed "as a Service" solutions across multiple regions using open-source products
- Maintain bare-metal nodes and virtual machines
- Release new features using tools such as Git, Ansible, Chef, and Jenkins
- Troubleshoot issues on Linux nodes and provide long-term fixes for user-impacting problems
- Develop APIs and automation components to enhance the platform
- Collaborate with users to understand their needs and improve their experience
- Propose and implement exciting new features for the logging platform

Required Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in Linux server management and automation in a production environment
- Experience in writing design documents or proposals and reaching agreements with stakeholders
- Strong understanding of Linux, networking, and web protocols (e.g., TCP, HTTP, TLS, DNS, BGP)
- Proficiency in a scripting language (e.g., Python) and/or a compiled language (e.g., Golang)
- Good understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Systematic approach to troubleshooting
- General understanding of data center compute and network design
- Experience working in a team-based collaborative environment
- Experience managing high SLA and large-scale systems
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and ELK
