A Global Digital Marketing solutions firm is seeking an experienced Senior Platform Engineer to build and architect the business aligned hybrid cloud platforms leading to localization and development of application platforms, data platforms, and AI/ML platforms. You will be working with a team of sales, product managers and engineers to build, test, launch, measure, and iterate our application and data products. This is a hands-on role where you will architect, design, and build our platforms using Microsoft Azure and other cloud hosting providers.
Responsibilities:
- Architect, design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve platforms such as application platforms, data platforms, AI/ML platforms, etc.
- Build and manage enterprise-scale DevOps and DataOps platforms
- Work with stakeholders to design cloud based technical architectures, migration approaches, and application optimizations that enable Japan business objectives
- Mitigate technology risks, participate in design reviews and track issue resolutions
- Define and drive regular development of an aggressive technical roadmap to meet the needs of the team, and partner teams
- Develop test strategies and test automations
- Take responsibility for monitoring product development and usage at all levels with an eye toward improving the quality of our platform as a service
- Set standards for deployments at scale, infrastructure reliability and scalability
- Work closely with product and application engineering teams to find ways to improve the product and interact with our site reliability engineering teams to drive high quality production
- Troubleshoot and support large scale applications
- Partner with teams including product management team to translate customer needs into a better overall product
- Act as a consultant and subject matter expert for internal stakeholders in engineering, sales and customer organizations to resolve technical deployment obstacles and improve our platforms
Required Skills:
- Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) processes
- 6+ years of experience working with the following: Cloud (prefer Microsoft Azure), Azure Dev-Ops, Java (maven, eclipse, jacoco, surefire, spring, junit, funkload), Spring Framework, akka and other Java framework, Kubernetes, Azure Kubernetes Service, Docker swarm and other orchestration tools, SQL and NoSQL datastores
- Comfortable traversing the whole stack: client-side through the persistence layer
- Experience with In-Memory Caching, Queues, Protocols, SOLR, Avro, etc.
- Experience with terabytes of information on big data (hadoop, hbase, hive) for aggregation and rollup
- Experience with junit test frameworks
- Experience working with and/or designing external APIs
- Experience working with and/or designing message queues (eg. Kafka, Confluent)
- TDD/BDD expert Education/Certifications
- Scalable Microservice design experience
- Community developer presence (github, apache, open source projects)
