This is a wonderful opportunity working for one of the world’s leading Insurance Companies. They are seeking a Project Manager, Strategic Project.
The project is aiming to:
‐ Improve operational efficiency by automating various manual operations
‐ Accelerate business growth by eliminating current operational and system challenges
Phase 1 of the project has successfully been launched and function enhancement is now underway as well as Phase 2.
Primary objectives of Phase 2 are to enhance new policy administration system and surrounding systems introduced in Phase 1 to accommodate personal accident (PA) insurance products and to migrate existing PA books onto the new platform. The project involves multiple global partners leveraging their offshore capabilities for development and strict vendor management under proper governance is essential. Target launch date for Phase 2 is July 2020 followed by stabilization and further enhancement.
This position engages with the project Phase 1 enhancement activities called ‘Day 2’. Main objective of Day 2 is to continue Phase 1 left over items and also deliver the high business priority items. You will be responsible for delivering them through managing onsite members both from internal and IT partners, including their offshore members; total of approximately 50 members. You will be closely working with the project director and local/APAC CIOs to define project direction, address project issues, and managing partners. Future career opportunity for this role would be to step up to a program director who has broader responsibilities across multiple projects from initiation to delivery including project portfolio management.
‐ Deliver the project as per the plan by leading both internal and delivery partner members
‐ Build one-team culture among project members including all internal as well as delivery partner members
‐ Identify project risk and address before it becomes an issue
‐ Identify issue and deep dive to analyze the root cause and resolve
‐ Consult with stakeholders and define/adjust project plan considering project situation
‐ Closely monitor daily activity tracking and keep all activities on track
‐ Project reporting to both ground level and management level
‐ Actively communicate with delivery partner managers and ground members to grasp true situation in the project
‐ Get familiar with business operations to determine issue/defect criticality and implement proper measurement before it becomes critical
