In Quality Engineering they play a central role by developing, implementing as well as maintaining technical quality assurance and control systems. They look for ways to improve the inspection, verification and validation of our finished products. Their team defines strategy – not to mention governance – for the implementation of quality standards and methodology. In addition to participating in the review of engineering designs, we assist customers or engineers in gathering and analyzing data.

They are currently recruiting a Customer Quality Principal Engineer in Japan. The Quality Principal Engineer will undertake the timely analysis and resolution of customer impacting product quality issues (real or perceived) coming from Executives, Sales or Technical Support teams.

In country and international travel will be required

Key Responsibilities

- Direct responsibilty for customer impacting product quality issues in Japan coming from Sales, Technical Support Teams or Executives

- Complete analysis of customer data and present to submitters

- Work closely with the Engineering teams to resolve problems that are possible product defects

- Work closely with functional groups includung but not limited to Development Engineers, Services Engineering and Parts Planners within their solution customer issues

- Communicate directly with external customers to present our findings and propose/scope an appropriate remediation plan (if applicable), then finally hand over fully planned projects to their Services Global Customer Field Action team for execution (if applicable)

- Proficient with Excel and Powerpoint

Required Skills

- IT/Technology industry experience

- Experience with Executive escalations and customer interactions up to executive leve

- Experience in developing and improving standards around which others will operate

- Understanding of six sigma and BPI processes and tools as well as statistics and forecasting methodologies

- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

- Understanding of core engineering, manufacturing (for hardware) and procurement processes
