A leading global insurance company is seeking a Business Continuity Management Lead primarily responsible for the implementation and management of global BCM policy and standards within Japan.
They are looking for a person who will be part of the IT Service Management (ITSM) team responsible for managing and maintaining IT Disaster Recovery (DR) readiness and ensuring Business Continuity Management (BCM) is well established.
‐ Be part of the ITSM team in implementing BCM and DR in Japan, co-working with the Global and local BCM team
‐ Ownership and management of business continuity for all of functionality and service offerings
‐ Perform Business Impact Assessment (BIA)
‐ Responsible for ensuring all business continuity / recovery plans are documented
‐ Ensure proper update of the plan through regular reviews with teams
‐ Schedule, coordinate and conduct required drills/ tests, as required
‐ Perform risk assessment to overall operations and business operations
‐ Develop contingency plans to deal with emergencies
‐ Define plans to include management from Tokyo and outside of Tokyo/Japan
‐ Implement awareness of BCM plans within organization and concerned global teams including contingency plans
‐ Discuss Disaster Recovery with DR lead and always aligned with the overall BCM plans
‐ Develop Business Recovery Plans and procedures governing the remote business offices and operations associated with the organization
‐ Plans to be structured to also include handling during major incidents and verified based on incident restoration
‐ Support global teams and contributes in developing policies, procedures, technical standards, methods, and education programs related to DR and BCM
‐ Organize business continuity exercises to confirm plans and rectify any gaps.
‐ Manage DR Stock Piles, distribution, replenishments, refresh due to expiry etc.,
‐ Producing management information, including KPIs and reports to show status within the environment and entity
‐ Presenting weekly and monthly DR / BCM data to Leadership team, concisely and effectively
‐ Documenting Issues, updating issues log, tracking issues to completion, and escalating issues to management team if needed
‐ Gather Staff safety assessment when requested by BCM team at the Japan level or within the entity level
‐ Be part of the recovery team during any disaster event, running the recovery facilitation, communication with parent company contributing to communication to business
‐ Work closely with Major incident management team towards making the BCP more mature and effective, as required
‐ Driving decision making for optimal recovery paths towards maintaining RTO and RPO
