A global luxury automobile manufacturer is hiring a Software Update Engineer (Testing).

Our client aims to establish regular HW and SW updates of the test vehicles. You will be responsible for updating control units to guarantee release conformity.

Management of EE (Electric/Electronic) Release update of vehicles:
- Responsibile for the compliance of test vehicles with the latest release configuration.
- Regular quick-tests of vehicles and comparison with latest release configuration.
- Identification of required updates, planning and scheduling of update campaigns.
- Regular exchange with relevant counterparts in HQ to secure expert knowledge of the relevant E/E architecture and systems.

Vehicle SW Updates:
- Execution of SW updates (ECU flashing and coding) according to schedule.
- Alignment with counterparts in China and/or HW to identify required SW packages.
- Troubleshooting of the SW update process and identification of solutions in close exchange with experts in China and/or HQ.
- Escalation to management if schedule cannot be met.

Vehicle HW Updates:
- Deputy for EE HW Update Engineer.
- HW change management and identification of required modification.
- Constant exchange with local RD workshop tem to secure parts ordering on time for scheduled updates.
- Escalation to management if schedule cannot be met.

Other Tasks: Supporting EE release updates for special build vehicles, such as testing car, charging test vehicle, etc.

Required Skills

- Professional expert in vehicle communications and automotive systems.
- Considerable knowledge in using flashing and diagnostic tools (Monaco, CANoe, etc).
- Experience in automotive engineering
- Experience in automotive development test including logging and analysing of vehicle communication on all state-of-the-art bus systems
- Experience in flashing and coding of multiple ECUs
- Experience in using standard automotive development tools
- Experience in communication and task organisation in interdisciplinary, multicultural, and multi-language teams

Preferred Skills

- Japanese driver’s license
- Japanese or German Language skills
- Bachelor in Engineering, e.g. Mechatronics / Electronics or similar
- Certified automotive mechanic
- License for handling of low- and high voltage systems
- Experience in development and/or test of control units using Autosar Security Models would be an advantage
- Experience in development and/or test of control units implementing connected features would be an advantage
