A fast growing global Insurance company is seeking an IT Project Manager, delivering projects on time and on budget, to ensure client demand is matched to IT supply and resourced effectively across the various IT departments, while leveraging an efficient set of processes for work intake, prioritization, capacity and exception management.

The successful candidate will help bridge the relationship between Product Analysts and the IT organization and has shared ownership & accountability with senior management for delivery of programs within their investment portfolio.


Relationship Management

‐Acts as single IT point of contact, liaison, and advocate between product analysts and all IT departments regarding application delivery

‐Influences and manages expectations of Product Analysts and IT leadership

‐Shapes and strengthens external business and technology vendor relationships

‐Manages and maintains request co-work with Infrastructure delivery team (manager)

Project Prioritization and Governance

‐Supports product analyst in IT/business initiative planning, business case creation, forecast demand

‐Influences priorities and decisions across the organization

‐Anticipates business changes and adjusts projects to align to new direction

‐Understands IT supply and proactively sets business delivery expectations

‐Provides IT senior leadership visibility and insight to business unit demand

‐Manages and directs IT budget across the projects

‐Provides the strategy for the creation of processes and procedures with input from business teams, development, and IT Support

‐Manages performance KPI in collaboration with all stakeholders including vendor KPI’s

Project Delivery

‐Drives delivery of owned IT Project

‐Communicates and sets delivery expectations of initiatives with business and IT stakeholders

‐Reviews project estimates and POR monthly allocations by collaborating with stakeholders

‐Leverages project management methodologies to effectively deliver IT projects on time & on budget

‐Identifies project risks/issues, execute mitigation plans and also communicates status to business and IT leadership

‐Manage developers through the dev leads to ensure the developer align to development standards

‐Facilitate Business Stakeholders and prioritize project items (Plan/Budget/Scope/Resource) based on estimated workload /business requirement provided by Solution Architect /Product Analysts

‐Reviews weekly project status reports with development leads

Staff Management

‐Maintains a manner of leadership, influence, and flexibility to promote a team atmosphere

‐Manages and mentors scrum team to reach their full potential and creates a passion to help drive teams to a common vision

‐Ensures programs are staffed with the appropriate resources and skill sets

Required Skills

‐Experience in line management for IT application development sections including: relationship management, project prioritization and governance, portfolio management, and staff management, or equivalent skill required

‐People management skills for guiding/ influencing internal team

‐Professional experiences in SDLC, Extreme Programming, Agile, MSF

‐Proven ability in working effectively with all level of management and staff positions, including pressured situations

‐Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required; Graduate Degree desirable

‐Results driven, exceptionally self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail and strong sense of personal accountabilities

‐Focused on excellence in own work and business/IT processes

‐Experience working with diverse cultures, including working with offshore IT organizations

Preferred Skills

‐PMP or equivalent industry certification

‐Enterprise experiences in management of external vendors (on/offshore) preferred, including multiple culture and languages

‐Experiences in proposing business enhancement or IT governance improvement desirable

‐Experience in operations support desirable

‐Occasional need to travel within or outside Japan
